We provide a Defensible Space Consultation and Wildfire Risk Evaluation program. We don’t call it an “inspection” – the consultation has no legal authority – we conduct evaluations at the request of the homeowner/resident as a public service to provide information and suggestions. Please set aside at least one hour to participate in the consultation.
The Defensible Space Consultation and Wildfire Risk Evaluation:
Defensible Space and Wildfire Risk consultations are conducted by trained staff who all have background as firefighters. Evaluations can currently be scheduled the following counties:

There is a modest fee for the service, however, financial hardship should not prevent anyone from having access to this program. We currently have funding to cover providing Evaluations at no fee to individuals without the means to pay for the service. Numerous entities exist around the state to provide the public with support in developing community fire planning organizations. Firescaping seeks to support existing processes by connecting interested individuals with the resources, and assist local leaders with planning and strategizing to assist them in achieving their goals.

Get grant-writing tips and support from experienced writers with a proven track record of writing successful grant proposals. There is a lot of information available on how to write effective grants, including workshops, courses, books, and literature. Despite all of the resources available, a third of grant applications received at the Fire Safe California Grants Clearing House are rejected because of errors in the application.
